Chapman on Broadway

August 2020 - May 2021. Chapman on Broadway is Chapman University's biggest musical theatre club. In the height of the pandemic, we retained members and provided performance opportunities by hosting monthly virtual cabaret nights - some done live on Zoom and some posted to Instagram Reels and TikTok. Each cabaret raised money for a charity of our choosing, including our university's Black Student Union, the National Lawyer's Guild of Los Angeles, and the Children's Hospital of Orange County. I designed posters, edited video content, and redesigned our brand identity. The use of contrasting purple and yellow conveys the boldness of the club's mission for inclusive theatre, the lights of the theaters we missed so dearly, and the richness of the campus culture we created. As an executive board member, I spearheaded the COB Cares initiative, which raised money for local Black Lives Matters protestors, spoke on the racial injustices in the theatre community, and spotlighted theatre artists of color.
