Hi, I'm Fiona! I'm a Los Angeles based theatre artist passionate about telling vibrant, unique stories that speak to the universality of the human experience. I'm pulled towards highly theatrical works that push the boundaries of emotions, movement, and audience interaction. I'm always drawn to  visceral intensity - whether that's violence, drama, or comedy (usually all three!) I'm inspired by stories that promote social justice and anything queer, coming-of-age, immersive, innovative, epic, mythological, fantastical, and magical.

Theatre itself is magic - I love incorporating breath, movement, and ritual to create powerful and transformative stories. I've seen how art can impact individuals, communities, and the world for the better - The electricity between actors and audiences can influence minds, hearts, and much more. 

 

Most importantly to me, theatre is FUN! As a director, I am dedicated to creating safe and supportive environments where actors and audiences feel comfortable playing, opening themselves to new perspectives, and finding the confidence to make big choices.

Whether I'm behind the table or in front, I approach text with specificity and curiosity. I enjoy working from the ground up - getting deep into the text and dramaturgy to create scaffolding, then experimenting with different styles to paint on the canvas. As my childhood idol, Ms. Frizzle, said, "make mistakes and get messy!" I'm always excited to try something new.
